2018 Projects

These are some of the exercises and plans APC has completed in 2018:
FDOH - COOP Ex
FDOH - Seminole County Continuity of Operations (COOP) Tabletop Exercise

 

On December 18, 2017, APC in consultation with the Florida Department of Health in Seminole County executed a Continuity of Operations (COOP) Tabletop Exercise to test current plans, procedures and protocols regarding response to a catastrophic hurricane. Evaluated capabilities included the following:

  • Planning

  • Operational Coordination

  • Operational Communications

  • Public Health and Medical Services

Miami-Dade THIRA/HAZUS
Miami-Dade County THIRA/HAZUS

 

From September 2017 until April 2018 APC worked in consultation with Miami-Dade County Emergency Management to conduct detailed hazard modeling/analysis of 8 selected hazard scenarios using the following strategies: 

  • Local Plan Integration

  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

  • HAZUS – MH

  • Historical Data

  • National Climatic Data Center

  • National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

Martin County Health Department - Logistics
Martin County Health Department - Logistics

 

In May of 2018, APC provided logistics services to the Florida Department of Health in Martin County. Logistics activities included:

  • Provided logistical support through the development of a physical inventory of goods at the DOH warehouse and storage facilities.

  • The final inventory was inputted into a detailed spreadsheet as approved by the DOH in Martin County.

Osceola County SNS Exercise
Orange County Public Schools - Active Assailant Training Video

 

In the spring of 2018, APC in consultation with the Orange County Public Schools developed an active assailant training video based on newly adopted emergency procedures and standard response protocols for the following: 

  • Elementary Schools

  • Middle Schools

  • High Schools/Technical Colleges

Osceola County Strategic National Stockpile Exercise - Stockpile of the Sick and Contagious 2.0

 

On June 12, 2018, APC in consultation with the Florida Department of Health in Osceola County executed a Strategic National Stockpile Full-Scale Exercise to test current plans and protocols regarding the coordination and distribution of prophylaxis to critical facilities. Evaluated capabilities included the following:

  • Public Health and Medical Services

  • Community Preparedness

  • Medical Countermeasure Dispensing

  • Infrastructure Protection

  • Operational Communications

Orange Count Public Schools - Active Assailant
SWFLEPC Full-Scale Hazardous Materials Exercise

 

On June 28 of 2018, APC in consultation with the Southwest Florida Local Emergency Planning Committee executed a hazardous materials Full-Scale Exercise to test current plans and protocols. Evaluated capabilities included the following:

  • Interdiction and Disruption

  • Environmental Health Safety and Response

  • Public Information and Warning

  • Operational Coordination

  • Operational Communications

SWFLEPC - Fullscale Ex
Orlando International Airport Emergency Operations Center Plan

 

During the summer of 2018, APC in consultation with the Orlando International Airport and RLKing Training developed the Airport Emergency Operations Center (Airport EOC) Plan. This Plan provides the management structure, key responsibilities, coordination activities, emergency assignments, and general procedures to follow during an incident of sufficient magnitude to necessitate activation of the Airport EOC.

Orlando/Orange UASI - THIRA/SPR

 

In the summer/fall of 2018, APC in consultation with the Orlando/Orange UASI developed the Orlando/Orange UASI THIRA/SPR. The THIRA assists jurisdictions in the analysis of threats and hazards of concern for each community that present the greatest challenge for the 32 core capabilities.

  • The THIRA is a three-step process; (1) Identify threats and hazards of concern, (2) Give context to the threats and hazards; and (3) Establish capability targets.

  • The SPR is also a 3-step process; (1) Assess capabilities, (2) Identify capability gaps and build strategies to address them, (3) Report grant contribution.

Operation Santa Claus - Osceola County Full-scale Exercise

 

In the December of 2018, APC in consultation with the Florida Department of Health in Osceola County executed a full-scale exercise to test current plans, protocols, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) regarding medical surge and Strategic National Stockpile/medical countermeasures.
