2021 Projects

These are some of the exercises and plans APC has completed in 2021:
Orange County Public Schools - School Emergency Response Team (SERT) Training

 

In the Spring and Summer of 2021, we worked with OCPS Emergency Management staff to update the SERT training. This included creating high resolution training videos that were uploaded to OCPS online training platform (Canvas). 

 

The trainings consisted of three (3) modules that were developed in coordination with OCPS EM staff and programmed using Articulate 3, an online training program platform. 

Polk County Comprehensive Emergency Operations Plan (CEMP) Update

 

In the Spring/Summer of 2021, APC worked with Polk County Emergency Management to revise and update the County's CEMP document.

 

APC Staff worked with County staff and the Florida Department of Emergency Management to ensure that the document was compliant.

City of Altamonte Springs, FL
Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP) 

 

APC assisted the City of Altamonte Springs with a full update and rewrite of the City's CEMP.

St. Lucie County
Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP) 

 

In the summer of 2021, APC assisted with the complete reorganization and revision of the St. Lucie County CEMP. We worked with staff to ensure that the document was clearly laid out and streamlined for better usability and suitability for the County's needs while ensure that the document was compliant with State requirements.

Orange County Local Mitigation Strategy (LMS) Update

 

In the Summer/Fall of 2021, APC worked with Orange County Emergency Management to revise and update the County's LMS document.

 

APC Staff worked with County staff and the Florida Department of Emergency Management to ensure that the document was compliant.

Orange County Utilities Virtual Tabletop Exercise

 

In the fall of 2021, APC developed an online tabletop exercise for Orange County Utilities - Water Division. In lieu of an in-person exercise due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a virtual tabletop exercise was held through an online platform.

The Hurricane exercise was conducted through WebEx for the Water Division to discuss their preparedness, response, and recovery protocols, plans, and procedures for a hurricane incident.

Orange County Strategic Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic: Part II

 

APC followed-up its work in 2020 documenting Orange County's COVID-19 vaccination process and how each County department adapted and moved forward during the pandemic.

Southwest Florida Healthcare Coalition Member Training

 

In the Spring of 2021, APC began hosting a series of virtual healthcare-related trainings for the Southwest Florida Region.

    • Environmental Cleaning and Waste Management

    • Safe Treatment and Care of COVID Patients

    • Mask Fit Testing

    • Waterborne Diseases

Orange County After-Action Report (AAR) and Improvement Plan (IP) for Hurricane Dorian and COVID-19

 

In the summer of 2020, APC in consultation with RLKing Training and APTIM, conducted an AAR and Improvement plan for the County's response to both Hurricane Dorian and the first phases of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

 

GOAA Tabletop Exercise and Full-Scale Exercise

 

In the summer/fall/winter of 2021, APC assisted with the Greater Orlando Airport Authority to hold required exercises and trainings. These exercises were performed with strict policy and guidelines during the COVID-19 pandemic, allowing for social distancing and various sanitation measures to ensure the safety of all participants.

Orlando/Orange UASI / Miami/Fort Lauderdale
THIRA/SPR

 

In the fall/winter of 2021, APC, in consultation with the Orlando/Orange UASI and the Miami/Fort Lauderdale UASI, reviewed the 2021 Orlando/Orange UASI THIRA/SPR. The 2021 THIRA review and update of the Response and Recovery Core Capabilities and identifying the gaps within the Prevention, Protection, and Mitigation Core Capabilities.

  • The THIRA is a three-step process; (1) Identify threats and hazards of concern, (2) Give context to the threats and hazards; and (3) Establish capability targets.

  • The SPR is also a 3-step process; (1) Assess capabilities, (2) Identify capability gaps and build strategies to address them, (3) Report grant contribution.
